Privacy Policy

Zayara ("we", "our", "us") makes an iOS app for learning Arabic dialects. We designed it to work with as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have. It is written in plain English on purpose.

Your learning progress - the words you've studied, streaks, daily goals and any settings - is stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage (localStorage / app storage). We do not upload this to our servers. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

When you buy a content pack, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store and by RevenueCat, our in-app purchase provider. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous identifier and the purchase record so that we can unlock and restore your purchases. We do not receive your name, address, email or payment card details from Apple.

To manage your purchases, the app generates an anonymous, randomly-created identifier that is not linked to your name, email, phone number or any advertising identifier. This identifier, along with your purchase records, is used by RevenueCat to unlock the content you've bought and is surfaced in RevenueCat's dashboards, which help us understand overall app usage. This information is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

If you're in the UK or the EU, GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Because most of your data stays on your device, deletion is usually as simple as removing the app. For anything else - including purchase records held by RevenueCat - email us and we'll help.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, that's the ICO at ico.org.uk).

Zayara is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

If we make material changes we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above.
